The Marathon will wind its way through desert scenery in the shadows of the Estrella and White Tank Mountains. A six-city event, the Boston Marathon qualifier starts at Verrado in Buckeye and continues through Goodyear, Avondale, Litchfield Park, Phoenix and Glendale to finish at the Westgate City Center.
The uniqueness of the West Valley will continue to inspire participants as the run through Avondale, home of Phoenix International Raceway and NASCAR. The course progresses on to Litchfield Park, where runners will appreciate the true southwest flair of this historic town.Runners will wind their way through three beautiful Jack Palmer golf courses that surround the luxurious Wigwam Resort and Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. Runners will focus on the University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, Super Bowl XLII, and the Phoenix Coyotes! As participants approach the final mile they will join the half marathon group. The finish line will be a picture perfect finish with the Bellagio style water feature guiding the runners to the finish line at Westgate City Center.
Absolutely NO Runner Parking at the start line – However, we do recommend being dropped off at the start!

Race day registration is Not Available! Last day to register is at the Expo Saturday, February 16th location tbd.
(Participants may pay an additional $20 for race day packet pick-up.)
Water/Gatorade Stations and Porta Johns:
Aid stations will be located at the Start/Finish. Small Aid kits with bandages, Vaseline, salt, etc. will be available at all water stations. Water, Gatorade and Porta Johns are located approximately at miles: Start, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13.1, 15, 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, Finish. Miles 11 and 19 have power gel.
IMPORTANT: For the safety of everyone stay inside the safety cones at all times. Anyone who runs outside of the cones will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS! Baby Joggers/Strollers/Pets/Bikes/Skateboards ARE NOT allowed on the course at anytime.
Weather: Typical weather in Phoenix for this time of year is a high: 72, low: 41, be sure to dress appropriately! Sunglasses, hat & sunscreen are a must as you will be running into the morning Arizona sun. Remember to stay hydrated.
Gear Check: Is available please provide your own runner drop bag and have it marked with your bib number. Any gear bags left after 1:00 pm at Westgate City Center will be donated to charity.
Marathon Pace Teams:
The Arizona Marathon, in partnership with the Arizona Road Racers Pace Team, will be offering pacers for the marathon. Pacers offer you support, encouragement, and most importantly, they get you to the finish line at your desired time! Look for the pacers at the start line and stick with them throughout the race. Bus Schedule from Westgate to start line and Runner Parking:
Buses will be leaving from the Half/Full /Relay Marathon Finish line at Westgate, Runner parking is located on the westside of Westgate City Center, 6751 Sunset Boulevard, Glendale, Arizona 85305

Buses will be shuttling runners to the start located at Verrado Towne Center 21029 West Main Street, Buckeye, Arizona 85396.
Bus times: First Bus departure approximately 5:15 am Last bus is scheduled to depart at 6:00 am
Course closes at 1:00 pm. For your safety you will be picked up if you are on the course after 1:00 pm.
Finish Line:
The finish line at Westgate Center will be a picture perfect finish with family, friends, bands, and a Bellagio style water feature guiding the runners to the finish line to receive finisher medals from the mayors and other community leaders from different Arizona cities. The festivities begin at 9:30 a.m. and are in a finish-line setting like no other! Congratulations Racers!
