Whether it is your first half marathon or your first place effort, come walk, run or jog with us in the Half Marathon.
The uniqueness of the West Valley will continue to inspire participants as the half marathon joins the marathon in Glendale, home of The Phoenix Coyotes and Arizona Cardinals. The half marathon starts at the Surprise Recreation Complex. The course progresses on to El Mirage, Youngtown, and Glendale. Runners will focus on the University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, Super Bowl XLII, and the Phoenix Coyotes, as they approach the final mile they’ll meet up with the full marathon group. The finish line will be a picture perfect finish with the Bellagio style water feature guiding the runners to the finish line at Westgate City Center.
Absolutely NO Runner Parking at the start line – However, we do recommend being dropped off at the start!
Finish line parking is located on the west side of Westgate City Center, 6770 North Sunrise Boulevard, Glendale, Arizona 85305

Weather: Typical weather in Phoenix for this time of year is a high: 72, low: 41, be sure to dress appropriately! Sunglasses, hat & sunscreen are a must as you will be running into the morning Arizona sun. Remember to stay hydrated.
Gear Check: Is available please provide your own runner drop bag and have it marked with your bib number. Any gear bags left after 1:00 pm at Westgate City Center will be donated to charity.
Water/Gatorade Stations and Porta Johns:
Aid stations will be located at the Start/Finish. Small Aid kits with bandages, Vaseline, salt, etc. will be available at all water stations. Water, Gatorade and Portajohns are located approximately at miles: Start 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11.5, finish. Mile 10 has power gel.
IMPORTANT: For the safety of everyone, all particpants must stay inside the safety cones at all times. Anyone who runs outside of the cones will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS! Baby Joggers/Strollers/Pets/Bikes/Skateboards ARE NOT allowed on the course at any time.
Parking Instructions: Runners are restricted from parking at Full Marathon start and Half Marathon Start
All runners will be shuttled from the Westgate Finish Line to both Starts according to the following schedule:

Buses will be leaving from the Half/Full /Relay Marathon Finish line at Westgate, Runner parking is located on the westside of Westgate City Center, 6751 Sunset Boulevard, Glendale, Arizona 85305

Buses will be shuttling runners to the start located at Surprise Recreation Campus 15960 N. Bullard, Surprise, Arizona
Bus times: First Bus departure 5:30 am Last bus 6:15 am
Course closes at 11:30 am. For your safety you will be picked up if you are on the course after 11:30 am.
Finish Line:
The finish line at Westgate Center will be a picture perfect finish with family, friends, bands, and a Bellagio style water feature guiding the runners to the finish line to receive finisher medals from the mayors and other community leaders from different Arizona cities. The festivities begin at 9:30 a.m. and are in a finish-line setting like no other! Congratulations Racers!
