Full Marathon

  • Start 7:00 a.m.
  • Course closes 1:00 p.m.
  • Directions:  I-10 take Verrado Way until it dead ends.  At the dead end take a right on granite bluff drive.  Turn left on Tiger Mountain drive and you will see the Vic Bar + Kitchen. The road will close at 6:45.and you will be directed to walk to the start area approx. 0.3 mile.

Description: The Marathon winds through beautiful desert scenery in the shadows of the Estrella and White Tank Mountains. This Boston Marathon qualifier starts in Buckeye where runners can wait in heated comfort inside the beautiful Vic at Verrado. The runners continue through Goodyear, where they join the half marathon group, then the course progresses on to Litchfield Park, a historic town with true southwest flair, where runners wind their way through the luxurious Wigwam Resort and Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. After that it’s on to Luke Air Force Base, home of the 56th Fighter Wing. Exiting Luke AFB, setting their focus on the University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, Super Bowl XLII, and the Gila River Arena, home of the Phoenix Coyotes. Runners end the marathon with a picture-perfect finish at the Westgate Entertainment District.

Shuttle Buses: Buses leave from Westgate Entertainment District (6751 N. Sunset Glendale, AZ 85305) beginning at 5:15 a.m. All registered participants have the option of taking a shuttle to the start line in Verrado. THE LAST BUS LEAVES AT 6:00 a.m. If you miss the last shuttle, you will have to find your own way to the start area in Verrado. Allow for possible road closures and construction.

Water-Gatorade-Porta Johns: Located at the Start/Finish area and throughout the course. Aid stations are approximately every 2 miles starting at mile 1; after mile 19 aid stations are every mile. All stations have water and Gatorade; miles 11 and 20 will have GU.

Results and Notifications: Chronotrack provides free text and email notifications on race day. Once results are complete, we’ll text message and email your results to you and your friends. You can check your notification preferences here: 

Be sure to get your friends, family and teammates to join and “follow” you as well so they can also receive your results!  Texts are sent out when you start, at the halfway point and when you finish.
