LANE CLOSURES & INTERRUPTIONS

This notice is to inform residents, businesses and places of worship that traffic flow restrictions will be in effect on Sunday, February 18th, in order to safely stage The Arizona Marathon. For additional information, please contact the Arizona Marathon office at 623-935-0322.
Barriers may be placed at business and community entrances and/or exits along the length of the race course from 3 AM to 1:30 PM, Sunday, February 19th. Please allow for extra travel time as minor traffic delays may occur.
The full marathon race starts at 7 AM at The Vic Bar + Kitchen. Runners will proceed through downtown Verrado and are expected to clear this portion of the course route by 7:45 AM. Police officers and traffic control personnel will direct traffic in this area before and after the start of the race. Runners have the right-of-way and traffic will be held for a short time if race participants are impacted by vehicles attempting to cross the race course.
STREET CLOSURES –
5 AM – 8:30 AM: Main St. in Verrado (between Market Place and Park St.), Park St. and Thayer St. are closed to traffic in both directions. Residents north of Main St., Park St. and Thayer St. may head south on feeder streets when runners are not on the course – please proceed with caution. Acacia Way (between Thayer St. and Indian School Rd.) is closed. Use Lost Creek and Verrado Way as alternates.
3 AM – 9 AM: Indian School Rd. between Sunrise Lane and Cotton Lane, including a portion of Loop 303 Indian School exits, will be closed to traffic in both directions
Additional west valley lane closures include:
3 AM – 1:00 PM: Glendale Ave: Only the right lane of westbound Glendale Ave is closed to traffic. Glendale Ave traffic intersections from Litchfield Rd. to 99th Avenue may be slow.
3 AM – 1:30 PM: 99th Ave: Closed to traffic between Glendale and Bethany Home
3 AM – 1:30 PM: Loop 101 Maryland Parkway Exits Closed
Please note: roads will reopen when as last runner clears. The times listed above are the LATEST the roads will still be closed.
